Frequently Asked Questions

1. What’s your photography style?

Bright, natural, and full of life. I use daylight whenever possible because it makes skin glow, eyes sparkle, and everything feel fresh and authentic. My style is clean, polished, and a little editorial- think timeless and effortless rather than heavy filters or over-the-top edits.

2. Do you help with posing?

Yes, absolutely. While (admittedly) posing isn’t my biggest strength, I’ll never leave you hanging. I guide you, help adjust little details, and keep the energy relaxed. If there are poses you love, send me inspiration photos before your shoot- I love collaborating so the images really feel like you!

3. Can I bring outfit changes or props?

Yes, please! The more options, the better. Bring lingerie, heels, jewelry, champagne, flowers, even that wild little number hiding in your closet. Changing things up keeps the shoot fun and makes your final gallery more exciting.

4. Can we shoot in multiple locations?

Sometimes, yes. It depends on how much time we’ve booked and how far apart the locations are. For example, a two-hour shoot split between opposite ends of Manhattan wouldn’t leave us enough time without it being stressful. But nearby spots? Totally doable. For my Muse half-day shoot, multiple locations (indoor and outdoor) work beautifully and give your portfolio more range.

5. What’s the vibe of the shoot?

Lighthearted, easy, and fun. I’ll send you a pre-shoot questionnaire so we’re already in sync with music, ideas, and preferences before we start. I do ask that you share your proposed location with me before booking- since my style relies on daylight, dark or dim studios won’t produce the bright, natural results you see in my portfolio. My priority is keeping everything relaxed, uplifting, and true to my style.

6. Do you provide hair and makeup?

No, but I recommend arriving hair and makeup ready, even if your face will be blurred later- looking polished helps you feel confident- and confidence photographs beautifully.

7. What kind of editing do you do?

Natural, subtle, and flattering. I smooth skin, adjust lighting, and make sure the final images look polished without being artificial. If you’d like tattoos removed, I can do that too, I’ll just quote it based on the size and detail.

8. Can you blur my face?

Yes, of course! While cropping works, I can professionally blur your face so it looks natural without any harsh edges. To make sure the blur is enough, I’ll  send you a sample “test blur” before finalizing.

9. How fast do I get my photos back?

Pretty quickly. With previews (or RAWs, if you've purchased), you’ll get those within 48 hours of our shoot. Your fully edited gallery is delivered within 2 weeks. I know how important it is to update your portfolio fast, so I don't drag my feet.

10. Do you provide previews?

Yes. I send previews in low-resolution JPEGs so you can see the overall look and vibe, and to choose the copies you'd like edited. If you’d like every RAW image delivered to edit yourself, that’s available as a $200 add-on.

11. Can I request extra edits?

Definitely. Just let me know what you’d like adjusted and I’ll provide a custom quote.

12. Can I request revisions once I get my edited photos?

Yes. I offer one free round of revisions on your chosen edits if needed. After that, additional changes aren’t included- mostly because my editing style is consistent, so if you love what you see in my portfolio, that’s exactly what you’ll get in your gallery.

13. How far in advance should I book?

The earlier, the better! I don’t hold time without a deposit, and my schedule fills quickly since I juggle multiple projects. That said, I’m always happy to squeeze in last-minute sessions if I can, so don't shy away from trying me!

14. Do you require a deposit?

Yes, always. A 25% deposit secures your booking. The rest is due in cash on the day of your shoot. Without a deposit, I can’t reserve time for you. I accept Bitcoin, Venmo, CashApp, and sometimes on occasion, gift cards.

15. What’s your cancellation policy?

• Tours: If you cancel within 48 hours, there’s a $200 fee to help cover travel expenses like hotels.

• Local shoots (CT, NYC, Boston): No cancellation fee, but you’ll need to pay a new deposit to rebook. One reschedule is allowed, as long as you give me at least a week’s notice.

16. Do you charge travel fees?

• Inside Connecticut or tours: No travel fee.

• Outside Connecticut: $50 per up to 50 miles round trip from Hartford, CT. For example, if you're in Manhattan 120 miles from Hartford, CT = $150.

17. Do you offer payment plans?

Not officially, but a try to be accommodating always. If it helps, you can break up your payment into 3–4 parts before the shoot. The final balance is due in cash at the session.

Please note all fees to me are non-refundable, unless I cancel (which has never happened as of yet!), so if you change your mind about shooting after paying installments in advance, the payments are treated as deposit and will be forfeited.

18. What happens if I’ve been making installment payments and then change my mind about shooting?

Installments are non-refundable. If you decide not to move forward with your shoot after sending pre-paid payments, those funds will be forfeited. This is because I hold time for you in my calendar and turn down other bookings to honor your session. Cash is king, so my preference is always the 25% deposit with the balance as cash in person option, vs installments virtually prior.

19. Will you use my photos in your portfolio?

Possibly. I love sharing examples of my work on my website or social media via your chosen edits. If you’d prefer not to have your photos used at all, I offer a $200 “no portfolio” option. And if I do use your photos and you retire from the industry, you can always ask me to remove your images.

20. Shall I credit you if I post on social media?

Yes, pleaseeeee! If you share my work on Twitter, Instagram, or anywhere else, tagging me or crediting my website makes my day. It also helps other companions discover me, and it’s the best way to support my work. My X (Twitter) is @fatalephoto, and my IG is @fatalephoto.

21. Do you travel outside the Northeast?

Yes. I regularly announce tours on my website and in my newsletter. If you’d like to know where I’ll be next, keep an eye on those updates.
